5 questions with Dylan / Go Time!
I think it would be very difficult to be into old Japanese cars here in Melbourne and not either have met or at least heard of Dylan and Go Time! which he runs side by side with Matt. I first met Dylan about 3 or 4 years ago when I was buying his old 86 front end stuff out of the white car. It’s been an absolute pleasure to see him slowly grow and improve his photography endeavours whilst also doing heaps via Go Time!
so without further ado lets get into it!
First things first, what was your initial introduction to cars?
So I was huuuge into downhill skateboarding, everyone at the time was looking to the skaters in Northern California, particularly Laguna beach. One day I came across one particular skater’s Instagram on which he had photos of his ‘69 ke10 and I was like wait wtf is that?? There are old Japanese cars too? These are like tiny little hot rods 😳 never thought I’d be into cars but that one turned it all around for me, hence my vehement adhesion to the Corolla badge
That being said, what are you driving or working on currently?
Driving my ‘81 ke70 with 16v 4A-GE at the moment, trying to enjoy it as much as possible after having rebuilt it from the ground up after a catastrophic fire 😅
So what to you is Go Time and what is the motivation behind it?
Go Time is a project created by myself and Matt Mcquiggan, the idea was to take our enthusiasm for design, photography and cars and make it into a cool content outlet and small business delivering the highest quality products and media we could muster.
What can we expect to see from Go Time in the near or far future?
Matt and I really just want to keep kicking our photography and videography up a gear with each step we take, we’re also putting in work to try and introduce high quality, ethically sourced clothing into our end of the car scene as we feel this is often overlooked. Additionally I would love to do more track days and just enjoy driving the corollas as we’ve put a lot of energy into making them a pair of great cars.
Finally, any last words or shoutouts?
Big shoutouts to all those who help us to make the most out of this hobby, it’s not always easy but with support from the community and the friends who’ve come along for the ride it’s all worth it
And big thanks to you George and Shinzo garage for caring enough to ask me these questions!
I would like to say a huge thank you to Dylan for taking the time out of his day to sit down and answer these questions for us. If you haven't already (not sure how that's possible) go check out @gotime.ltd on Instagram. Matt and Dylan are constantly posting very fresh mainly Corolla content and have also been pushing out some sick clothing in the past year!
